Vacancy Announcement - Health Coordinator

Medical Teams International is a non-profit organization, which serves to bring aid and medical care to those in need worldwide. We are looking for people who are skilled, passionate, determined and experienced for the positions of Health Coordinator.

The Project Manager will be based in Pidie - Aceh. S/He will focus on overall strategy, program planning and liaison with government, and also operate at a more applied-level focusing on direct capacity building with individual partners.

Under the guidance and supervision of the Poject Manager, the Health Coordinator will be responsible for the following functions:

Technical:
1.. In collaboration with the PM and other program staff, develop an Action Plan for project implementation.
2.. Develop and maintain good lines of communication and relationships with local authorities and local community.
3.. Assist the PM to complete standard Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with community representatives and local authorities. Ensure that all elements of MoU are adhered to. Inform to PM when other parties are failing to meet the agreed upon requirements.
4.. Work with the local health authorities to develop a sense of ownership for the health promotion projects. In accordance with project goals and guidance from project management staff, establish mechanism whereby communities assume responsibility for the maintenance of the project after the departure of MTI.


5.. Provide the PM with regularly updated project implementation plans and keep the PM aware of potential need for changes with associated time lines as requested.
6.. Provide internal training and leadership on community health issues, theories, and strategies to other project staff.
7.. Collaborate with Program Department in developing and designing training modules for project staff, MOH staff and communities on community health topic.
8.. Ensure a safe working environment for all people involved in project implementation.
9.. Respect local culture and values.
10.. Cooperate and coordinate with all project staff to ensure good internal communication and subsequent high quality project selection, implementation and management.

Administrative:

1.. Ensure proper financial control and management according to the budget guidelines provided by MTI.
2.. Ensure maintenance of relevant project management and office administrative documentation (according to the guidelines provided by MTI).
3.. Follow all MTI protocols and regulations according to guidance provided by direct supervisor.
4.. Immediately report any security issues which concern MTI staff or equipment to PM
5.. Make sure the proper use of the MTI properties, equipment and transports means when they are assigned for the project.

Reporting:

1.. Complete monthly progress reports as required by PM and submit reports in a timely manner.
2.. Assist MTI management with any request for information or data regarding program expansion or development.
Supervising and Monitoring:

1.. Supervise health facilitators to ensure the responsible completion of their duties according to their position descriptions. Particular attention should be paid to the record keeping and paperwork each is obliged to complete according to his/her job description.
2.. To arrange schedule and perform regular project monitoring and related reporting according to documentation and guidelines provided. Ensure that the project monitoring adheres to the monitoring plan.
3.. Make sure that the quality of the project under your supervision is according to the specification accepted in advance.
SELECTION CRITERIA

1.. Preferably Bachelor Degree in Public Health with 3 years relevant work experienc
2.. Previous community motivation,organiza tional capacity development, program coordination and management
c.. Experience in Nutrition, Health Recovery & Education Program & Public Health Facilities
4.. Strong organizational capacity and demonstrated leadership skills, proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams
5.. Experience working with an international NGO, with government and local organizations
6.. Understanding and sensitivity of social and cultural diversities
7.. Ability to build and maintain effective client relationships, internally and externally
8.. Commendable initiative, independence, integrity, and reliability
9.. Proficient in English and Bahasa Indonesia
10.. Interpersonal skills, including patience, diplomacy, willingness to listen and respect for colleagues
