The Management and Care of Irregular Immigrants Project (MCIIP) is based in Tanjung Pinang and has three project components: The construction of new immigration quarantine facilities in Tanjung Pinang, the development of a procedures manual and training package for immigration quarantine staff, and the establishment of an Assisted Voluntary Returns unit.

General functions:
Â
Working under the technical supervision of the Senior IT Assistant in Jakarta and the overall supervision of the Project Manager, the IT Assistant will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance, support and implementation of the IT infrastructure at IOM Tanjung Pinang. In particular, he/she will :

1. Â Provide onsite end-user support to IOM staff.
2. Assist in the monitoring and administration of LAN, Internet connectivity and equipment.
3. Support in the maintenance of present and upcoming ITC equipment.
4. Implement configuration of desktops and laptops for IT services such as internet, access to network resources, email and others.
5. Install, configure and upgrade hardware an software for desktops and laptops (windows, MS Office, Antivirus and in house produce software).
6. Virus detection, removal and prevention for all systems. This will involve assurance of deployment of the latest Anti-Virus signatures for Data Protection.
7. Support in the Management of an overall tracking system for the ITC equipment inventory.
8. Provide technical support and assistance to end-users.
9. Provide technical expertise on IT requiremets of the new Tanjung Pinang Quarantine Facility.Â
10. Implement and manage a centralized regular backup for data files and database systems.
11. Develop and implement when necessary, ITC training to end users to ensure productive use of existing and new systems.
12. Regularly report needs and progress on ITC issues in his/her area of responsibility.
13. Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Desirable Qualifications :
University degree in Computer Science and/or alternatively, a combination of relevant education and professional experience. At least three to five years experience in networking environment (LAN/WAN), Experience with Windows server software (NT/2000) in a multi-site environment, TCP/IP, MS Office, Antivirus Software and IT utilities.
Â
Previous experience working in an International Organization is an advantage. Able to work with minimum supervision and maintain composure under pressure. Well versed in written and oral communication, including the ability to explain and present the technical information.

Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
