Project Supervisor
(Temporary contract)

Responsibilities include:
The Project Supervisor (PS) is responsible for implementing projects directly or indirectly, assisting communities to implement projects as identified by the community and Community Mobiliser, and for maintaining close harmonious contact with the community. The PS is responsible for ensuring that communities have the capacity to provide labor according to their agreement, to ensure adherence to Mercy Corps policies and procedures around procurement and storage of materials, and to ensure overall quality of infrastructure built, whether by communities or contractors, and to ensure timeliness of project implementation. Likewise, the PS is responsible to monitor construction projects carried out by contractors- to ensure adherence to contractor workplan and ETU technical design and quality specifications. Provides day-to-day on-site supervisory work at assigned project sites, providing assistance, guidance, monitoring, and reporting daily to the Senior
Program Coordinator (SPC) about implementation progress and problems; consulting regularly with the ETU to solve technical issues.Â

Desired Qualifications:
Ø      Experience in construction of community and economic infrastructure (buildings, irrigation, bridges, box culverts, roads, etc.), water and sanitation, health, hygiene and safe water promotion is strongly preferred;
Ø     Experience in monitoring the construction of infrastructure projects and ensuring quality construction;
Ø     Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with community members, contractors, and laborers depending upon the implementation strategy;
Ø     Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to plan, manage construction activities, follow procedures, meet deadlines, and work independently, and cooperatively with community and team members;
Ø     Proven ability to problem solve under pressure, to access technical advice, and to recommend appropriate solutions to the Project Coordinator;
Ø     Previous work experience in community participatory projects in Aceh Barat and/or Nagan Raya;
Ø     A satisfactory level of written and spoken English is desirable;
