Data Entry - ILRI Project (Based: Jakarta, Indonesia)

The Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) is an international research and global knowledge institution committed to conserving forests and improving the livelihoods of people in the tropics. With Headquarters in Bogor, Indonesia and offices in Asia, Africa and South America, CIFOR works in over 30 countries worldwide and has links with researchers in 50 international, regional and national organizations. CIFOR is a member of the CGIAR (Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research).
Data Entry
Under the guidance and supervision of the Analytical Epidemiologist, he/she shall provide support to office operations, performing a variety of standard administrative services while insuring high quality and accuracy of work. He/She will work in close collaboration with the other staff to exchange information and ensure consistent service delivery. Specifically this consultant will work for International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) Project based in Jakarta. ILRI Project in Jakarta has collaboration with CIFOR.
Responsibilities:


Keep track of received data and source documents;
Prepare and sort source documents, and identify and interpret data to be entered;
Compare data with source documents, or re-enter data in verification format to be detect errors;
Compile, sort and verify the accuracy of data before it is entered;
Enter data into database and spreadsheet software and assist to process the data into reports;
Select materials needed to complete work assignments;
Maintain logs of activities and keep records of work completed;
Conduct descriptive analysis as requested
Carry out activities in support of the overall responsibilities assigned to the team (making copies, faxing, scanning).
Requirements:

Minimum of Diploma (D3) degree in relevant field;
At least two years of experience in data management;
Must have knowledge of document imaging/scanning hardware and software and experience creating electronic copies of documents;
Good command of written and spoken English;
Proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Access and MS Excel is required, knowledge of Arcview is desirable;
Ability to review a variety of data, identify and adjust discrepancies, identify and resolve problem;
Ability to produce high quality of work with minimum supervision.
Terms of consultancy:

The consultancy services will be initially offered until August 2008, with a possibility of extension;
The position will be based in Jakarta.
