Water Sanitation Engineer, Banda Aceh,

OPEN TO INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL CANDIDATES

IOM is looking for a Water Sanitation Engineer
according to the terms of reference below. Interested

Position Title : Water Sanitation Engineer
Duty Station : Banda Aceh, Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam,
Indonesia
Classification : Employee, Grade 4
Estimated Starting Date : As soon as possible


General functions:

Under the overall supervision of the ARC Water Supply
Project Manager and Project Officer, and direct
supervision of Project Engineer ARC Water Supply
project, he/she will be responsible for the following
functions:

1. Training of Village Water and Sanitation
Committees(VWSC)
2. Developing of technical solutions for village water
supply together with the VWSC.
3. Assist in supervising the construction work
according to design, BoQ, specification and work
schedule.
4. Attend day to day activities on site, following
program/schedule issued by the Project Manager.
5. Ensure the quality of the construction and
material used in construction.
6. Submit daily log-book maintained to the Site
Coordinator.
7. Prepare and submit weekly progress reports to the
Site Coordinator.
8. Report any difficulties/ problems in construction
process and activities to Site Coordinator and Project
Manager.
9. Assist in the final and close-out inspection of
construction work in coordination with Site
Coordinator and Project Manager.
10. Represent the project in a professional and
courteous manner while in the field.
11. Assist in the preparation of engineering drawing,
BoQ-s and specification as required.
12. Interface with local authorities concerning any
problem generated during the course of implementation
of the project.
13. Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Desirable Qualifications:
University degree in Civil Engineering and/or other
closely related field. One to three years experience
in infrastructure planning and construction,
preferable in water supply & sanitation works.

Proven ability to interact effectively with government
officials/ local authorities is essential. Ability to
plan and organize own work; ability to establish
priorities and undertake assigned tasks with minimum
supervision.

Good drafting ability and communication skills, both
oral and written to produce reports. Demonstrated
ability to work in a multicultural, multi-ethnic
environment and to maintain effective working
relations with people of different national and
cultural backgrounds. Able to work under pressure, and
undertake frequent project related travels. Able to
work during weekends and overtime.

Knowledge English is an advantage.
