Public Health Assistant, Banda Aceh, NAD

OPEN TO INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL CANDIDATES

IOM is looking for a Public Health Assistant according
to the terms of reference below. Interested applicants

Position Title : Public Health Assistant
Duty Station : Banda Aceh, Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam,
Indonesia
Classification : Employee, Grade 5
Estimated Starting Date : As soon as possible


General functions:

Under the direct supervision of the Project Manager,
Community Water Sanitation and the overall supervision
of the Head of Office, the successful candidate will
be responsible for the following functions:

1. Responsible for the development of public health
related training materials;
2. Responsible in developing and conducting
specialized public health and social promotion
training to project staff, as required; develop IEC
materials or reproduction of existing materials
3. Regularly monitor all community mobilization,
capacity building and hygiene promotion activities;
4. Assist in the preparation of project reports;
5. Publishing of project relevant articles in Bahasa
Indonesia
6. Undertake duty travels if/when required;
7. Perform all other duties that may be assigned.

Desirable Qualifications:

University degree in Nutrition and/or Family
Resources. At least five years of work experience in
public health or nutrition-related projects. The
candidate must have previously attended a training on
Social Analyses, Gender Awareness, Participatory Rural
Appraisal, Knowledge Attitude Practice (KAP) surveys.

Proven ability to interact effectively with government
officials/ local authorities is essential. Ability to
plan and organize own work; ability to establish
priorities and undertake assigned tasks with minimum
supervision.

Good drafting ability and communication skills, both
oral and written to produce reports. Demonstrated
ability to work in a multicultural, multi-ethnic
environment and to maintain effective working
relations with people of different national and
cultural backgrounds. Able to work under pressure, and
undertake frequent project related travels. Able to
work during weekends and overtime.

Thorough knowledge of English.
