An NGO-managed education program
operating in seven provinces in Indonesia
seeks qualified candidates of Information
Communication Technology Assistant (ICT Assistant). This position will be
based in Semarang Indonesia.
ICT (Information and Communication Technology) Assistant
Job Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Provincial ICT Coordinator:
1.Work intensively to carry out a weekly
schedule with core groups of teachers to help them use ICTs.
2.Create learning resources and materials for
use in a learner-centered instructional activity and use ICT to carry out a learner-centered activity in the teacher’s classroom.
3.Provide workshops in active learning using
ICTs so that the teacher becomes comfortable utilizing learner-centered,
ICT-based approach in his/her classroom.
4.Organizing and facilitating open lessons - feedback and
discussion questions - in which teachers across the cluster come and observe a
“model” learner-centered activity organized by a fellow teacher.
5.Conducting in-class observations and structured feedback with teachers, including planning and consulting with teachers on the provision of technology to schools, develop teaching and learning materials, traveling to various schools scheduling
teachers meeting, and working with school leaders to cover teachers’ classes
during scheduled professional development.
Required Selection Criteria:
Has a very strong teaching background and recent experience in the classroom.
Possess the Knowledge(awareness and application of learner-centered instruction methods, subject matter),leadership, professional development, support), and Skills (technology, curriculum design,facilitation, pedagogy).
Demonstrate good instructional practices good presentation
skills, time management skills, classroom management, and understanding how ICT
can support learner-centered instruction.
Demonstrate good facilitation practices ability to work closely with teachers, provide feedback and support, effective coaching and mentoring skills, and ability to run an active learning workshop.
Eagerness to learn, ability to think innovatively and creatively, openness to change and new ideas, shows high level of motivation and energy needed to help teachers, be proactive, appears to understand the logistical and conceptual difficulties associated with change.
Participating in a series of trainings which will require
travel, working in a team to provide training and working on an almost-daily
basis in schools co-teaching a learner-centered activity with teachers.
Participating in online professional development course that
aims at improving their mentoring and coaching skills.
