Mercy Corps is an international NGO implementing programs in Aceh Province, Indonesia. Mercy Corps is a non-profit organization that is currently recruiting for positions in the MEULABOH office. Successful candidates will meet the education and experience requirements for each position description and will have a strong knowledge of spoken English and knowledge of the Reconstruction efforts and regulations in Aceh Province and local languages.

Monitoring Evaluation Officer

Qualifications include:

A minimum of BSc. in social science, economics, communications, or development fields. Strong project design, monitoring, and design experience; a minimum of three years of experience, Strong research, critical thinking, and analytical skills, Must be able to collate and present information and write reports. Previous experience working NGOs. Familiarity with the market development approach, Experience working with micro, small, medium enterprises and business services providers in Indonesia, Strong computer (MS office), filing, and organizational skills.etc

Responsibilities include:

Design:

Proactively assist Head of Projects and EDP Manager in design of log frames, indicators and assessment tools, Ensure all EDP initiatives support market development principles.

Monitoring.

Work with Head of Projects (HoPs) and EDP Manager in developing data collection tools to measure indicators and other key information on routine basis. When necessary, build these in to existing processes and partner reporting, Manage baseline data collection efforts, with close coordination with HoPs and EDP Manager, Help HoPs set quarterly or annual indicator targets, based on baseline data collection, Proactively help HoPs utilize data to make program management and planning decisions, Ensure monitoring efforts track Mercy Corps’ exit strategy for each intervention. Streamline all existing databases to include only current indicator data, and ensure these systems are connected in to Mercy Corps-wide M&E efforts(not parallel).

Evaluation

Support evaluation efforts, as needed, including developing evaluation tools and conducting evaluation.

Information & Communication:

Share data and analysis with other teams, and identify areas for leveraging other teams’ work with Economic Development. Work with HoPs and ED Manager to identify synergies between ED initiatives as well, Serve as a close liaison with the Mercy Corps M&E TU and utilize them as a resource, Help develop information partnerships and contribute to raising MC’s visibility in economic development (e.g. with universities, other databases etc). Other duties as required.
